About the Artist
Ana Vidovic is an internationally acclaimed classical guitarist recognized for her exquisite tone, exceptional technical command, and deeply expressive musicianship. Her artistry is marked by clarity of phrasing, refined musical interpretation, and a consistently thoughtful approach to repertoire.
Born in Karlovac near Zagreb, she began playing guitar at the age of five and quickly demonstrated extraordinary promise. At thirteen, she became the youngest student admitted to the prestigious National Musical Academy in Zagreb, where she studied with guitarist and pedagogue Istvan Romer. She later continued her training at the Peabody Conservatory in the United States, further refining her artistic voice.
Vidovic has built a distinguished international concert career, performing across Europe, the Americas, Asia, and Australia. She has appeared in many of the world’s leading concert halls, including Musikverein, Concertgebouw, and King’s Place, as well as at major festivals and recital series worldwide. She has also performed as a soloist with numerous orchestras, including the Zagreb Philharmonic and the Hungarian National Philharmonic.
A prizewinner of several major competitions, she earned top honors at events such as the Albert Augustine International Competition, the Fernando Sor Competition, and the Francisco Tárrega Competition. Her repertoire spans composers from the Baroque to the Romantic and modern eras, including works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Mauro Giuliani, Agustín Barrios Mangoré, Domenico Scarlatti, and Fernando Sor.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, she adapted her career through livestream concerts and online masterclasses, maintaining an active international presence. Today, she continues to perform widely, balancing solo recitals, concerto appearances, and educational work, and remains one of the most respected figures in contemporary classical guitar performance.
